Through 3 Quarters
Down nine at the end of last quarter, the Boise State Broncos have now snagged the lead. After three quarters neither squad has the contest in the bag, but Boise State leads 21-19 over the Colorado State Rams.
The Broncos have been relying on WR Octavius Evans, who has punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to snatching one receiving TD, and QB Hank Bachmeier, who has passed for two TDs and 194 yards on 30 attempts. QB Todd Centeio has led the way so far for Colorado State, as he has passed for one TD and 243 yards on 28 attempts in addition to picking up 62 yards on the ground.
The Rams haven’t lost 100% of the games in which they were down heading into the final period this year, so a win here would be refreshing.

What to Know
The Boise State Broncos have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. Boise State and the Colorado State Rams will face off in a Mountain West battle at 7 p.m. ET Saturday at Canvas Stadium. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
The Broncos might have drawn first blood against the Air Force Falcons two weeks ago, but it was Air Force who got the last laugh. Boise State fell to Air Force 24-17. No one had a standout game offensively for Boise State, but they got scores from RB Andrew Van Buren and WR Stefan Cobbs.
Meanwhile, Colorado State was close but no cigar last Friday as they fell 26-24 to the Utah State Aggies. Despite the defeat, the Rams got a solid performance out of RB David Bailey, who rushed for two TDs and 159 yards on 30 carries.
This next matchup is expected to be close, with the Broncos going off at just a 2-point favorite. Those burned by picking them against the spread two weeks ago might want to keep in mind that the squad has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
The losses bumped both teams down to an identical 3-4. A pair of defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Boise State is stumbling into the game with the 201st most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 11 on the season. The Rams have experienced some struggles of their own as they are 181st worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with ten on the season. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
